Wintry weather moves in for the weekend

HENRY COUNTY– It might just feel like Déjà Vu, but there is the potential wintery weather moving in Friday night and into Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service from Blacksburg, Virginia has issued a winter weather advisory for our entire coverage area until 11:00 AM Saturday, November 24, 2018.

Our main concern is that our temperatures will be near or below freezing as the event starts out as brief period of freezing rain mixed with sleet. As the morning goes on, temperatures will rise above freezing and turn to a cold rain.

The good news with this storm system is that it will be short-lived and should not cause many issues, unlike the last storm that came through last Thursday.

Amounts: .10-.20 tenths of an inch of sleet/ice, with at least 1-2 inches of rain Saturday afternoon.

Sunshine and warmer temperatures will make a comeback Sunday.

Stay with BTW21 for updates.
