COLLINSVILLE --- For the first time in ten years, Southwest Virginia horse racing fans will have a chance to bet a Triple Crown contender this weekend as 2018 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Justify competes in Saturday's Belmont Stakes.

Wagering will be available at The Windmill Off Track Betting Center Sports Grill inside the Dutch Inn in Collinsville Friday June 8th from 11 AM - 11:30 PM, and again Saturday June 9th from 11 AM until the race goes off at 6:37 PM. The last time a horse competed for the Triple Crown, when wagering was offered in Henry County, was back in 2008. Big Brown that year won the Derby and Preakness but failed in his bid in the Belmont Stakes to win the Triple Crown. At that time, Colonial Downs had an Off Track Betting Center in Ridgeway. That facility closed in February, 2014, so this has been the first time in five years that fans have been able to bet Triple Crown events, which are held in May and June.

The Windmill opened three months ago and due to expected large crowds on Saturday for the Belmont, an auxiliary betting area will be open in the hotel's first floor Ballroom. Large screen TVs, betting windows, tables and chairs, and wagering assistance will all be available on the first floor. The OTB Sports Grill itself is open seven days and evenings a week.
