STONEVILLE – The Duval County Sheriff's Office in Florida put out information earlier that they were looking for Kourtney Leino, 23, who had reportedly been abducted from the area of Jacksonville, Fla. approximately 36 hours ago by Matthew Ross Dalton, 23 years old. The two were reported to be possibly travelling to the North Carolina or Virginia area in a White 2-door Nissan Altima with Florida tags.
At around 9:22 a.m. today, Rockingham County Sheriff's Deputies received a call from one of Dalton's family members at 320 Brushy Mountain Road near NC770 in Stoneville, N.C. stating that Leino and Dalton were there at that residence.
Upon the arrival of Deputies, Dalton fled into the surrounding wooded area of the home; but was quickly apprehended by Deputies. Leino was inside the residence and is now safely in the protection of Rockingham County Sheriff's Deputies. Dalton was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond for a First Degree Kidnapping of an Adult charge out of Jacksonville Florida. This investigation is multi-jurisdictional and ongoing at this time.
