Two charged for several break-ins in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY --- Two men have been charged after investigation of several break-ins in Franklin County. On September 28, deputies and Investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office began investigating several break-ins in the Hardy community. The break-ins occurred on Wysong Mill Road, Overlook Road, Mooreman Road, Northridge Road and Island Road. Several outbuildings as well as vehicles were broken into. An additional break in was linked to the original six on September 28. Some of the items taken include; a firearm, weed eaters, water pump, tools and drills. Investigators soon developed suspects and executed search warrants in Roanoke City with assistance from the Roanoke Police Department. Numerous items from the break-ins have been recovered. David Morgan Ayers, age 46, of Vinton and Michael Lawrence Walters, age 40, have both been charged with possession of stolen property.
