Tractor trailer drives over, damages fire hydrant

MARTINSVILLE – In an attempt to make its way out of Pine Hall Road, a tractor trailer struck and ran over a fire hydrant Monday at around 7:20 PM. The female driver of the tractor trailer got the hydrant stuck in between the wheels. Power lines from a nearby home were pulled by the 18-wheeler. Martinsville Water Resources said the estimated cost of repairs is $1500. Minimal damage was done to the 18-wheeler. No one was hurt. Engine 1 of the Martinsville Fire and EMS along with Martinsville Police responded to the incident.
