FRANKLIN COUNTY – A student is giving back to her community by organizing and hosting a school supplies drive.
Saturday, Savannah Farris, a rising sophomore at Ferrum College, held an event to raise funds for the drive for Callaway Elementary School.
The event was held at the Callaway Fire Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office was there to support the cause.
Many residents stopped by to give donations, school supplies and purchased food.
