MARTINSVILLE – Local State Farm agent Chris Starnes knows first hand what his clients are going through after Fridays devastating flash floods. A mud slide later that day made entrance into his building located on Virginia Avenue. In the meantime Chris and his staff work from the parking lot under a canopy using laptops and cell phones. Temporarily State Farm calls are being forwarded to his customer service team. Cleanup started early Wednesday morning with Service Master from Roanoke. We asked Starnes how could he continue to smile while facing adversity? He replied, "no one was hurt, no one was injured, we've got work to do." State Farm says we're very appreciative of our customers for your patience and understanding reminding residents to call Public Safety to report damages at 276-634-4660 related to the active state of emergency.

Yeah...we have state Farm Insurance and had to get on our knees and beg for them to replace our stuff..covered by them. We probably got 20 percent of what they owed us and they treated us like we were robbing them at gunpoint. Hey State Farm...we pay you every month for 30 years..so I think you should pay for our covered stuff with out lie detectors and FBI tactics. People...get any insurance besides State Farm...just dealing with them for months after the flood makes you contemplate suicide...State Nazis.
