A tragic house fire in Eden, North Carolina, claimed the life of an individual on the evening of December 10, 2025. The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 1018 Person Street after reports of a fire at the residence.
Neighbors alerted authorities that they believed an elderly person might still be inside the home, prompting an immediate and urgent response.
Upon arrival, a deputy made every attempt to enter the burning structure to rescue anyone inside.
However, the fire had already engulfed the house, and efforts to gain entry were unsuccessful.
