HENRY COUNTY, VA (BTW21) – A narcotics investigation led to two arrests, the seizure of illegal drugs, and the confiscation of a vehicle following the execution of a search warrant at an apartment on Maple Drive.

On July 18, 2025, deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to an anonymous tip reporting frequent vehicle and foot traffic at 325 Maple Drive, Apartment 9, a pattern often associated with drug-related activity.

Upon arriving at the location, deputies observed multiple vehicles entering the apartment complex and noted suspicious behavior consistent with narcotics distribution.

A short time later, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a separate vehicle exiting the complex for a registration violation.

The vehicle was occupied by several individuals.

During the stop, deputies detected inconsistencies in the occupants’ statements. A subsequent search uncovered illegal substances and drug paraphernalia.

Based on this information, deputies obtained a search warrant for Apartment 9.

Upon executing the warrant, deputies found and seized suspected methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as digital scales, packaging materials, several cell phones, and a quantity of U.S. currency. A 2010 Audi sedan was also seized as part of the investigation.

At the time of the search, the apartment was occupied by Javon Lamar Manns, Robert Carrington Brough, and a third individual who was released at the scene after deputies confirmed no active warrants.

The following individuals were arrested:

  • Javon Lamar Manns (Held without bond)

    • Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute (VA Code §18.2-248)

    • Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute (VA Code §18.2-248)

  • Robert Carrington Brough (Held on $3,500 secured bond)

    • Maintaining a Common Nuisance (VA Code §18.2-258)

All evidence recovered during the investigation will be analyzed by the Virginia Department of Forensic Science.

Anyone with information related to illegal drug activity is urged to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at (276) 638-8751 or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 63-CRIME (632-7463). Rewards of up to $2,500 are available for information leading to arrests and convictions.
