HENRY COUNTY, VA – This year, the Patrick Henry Community College Foundation honored 8 graduates as distinguished alumni.
The Distinguished Alumni Awards, which were presented at Chatmoss Country Club on Friday, recognize graduates for professional and community achievements.
This year’s award recipients were: Kelly Baliles; Melissa Blair; Phyllis Dalton; FeLisa France; Jeannie King; Teddy D. Martin, II; Warren Rodgers, Jr; and Tim Stone.
Baliles graduated in 1993 with her associate in administration of justice and in 1992 with her diploma in criminal justice. She is now the co-owner of Handy Rentals and the owner of One Handy Caterer Catering Company.
Blair graduated in 1989 with her associate in general studies. She is now a health and physical education teacher at Bassett High School with the Henry County Public Schools.
Dalton graduated in 1992 with her associate in nursing. She is now a New Patient Coordinator, melanoma for Duke Cancer Center.
France graduated in 2013 with her associate in accounting. She is now the Assistant Vice President and Correspondent Liaison/Mortgage Pipeline Manager for Carter Bank & Trust.
King completed credits toward an associate degree in general studies and education in 1989. She is now the Principal of Woolwine Elementary School with Patrick County Public Schools.
Martin graduated in 2008 with an associate in general studies with a specialization in teacher education preparation and in 2010 with his associate in business administration. He is now the Human Resources Benefits Specialist for Patrick Henry Community College.
Rodgers graduated in 2002 with his associate in general studies. He is now the Executive Director of the Southside Survivor Response Center.
Stone graduated in 1986 with his associate in business administration. He is now the Owner and Appraiser for Stone Real Estate Appraisal Service.
