Virginia State Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Henry County

HENRY COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in Henry County.
The crash occurred shortly after midnight on July 26 at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Dyer Street.
According to state police, a 2006 Hyundai Tucson was traveling north on Virginia Avenue when it struck a pedestrian walking in the northbound travel lane.
The pedestrian, identified as 34-year-old Amber Michelle Hodges, was transported to Sovah Health Martinsville, where she later died from her injuries.
No charges are pending at this time. The crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
