MARTINSVILLE, VA
The Martinsville-Henry County chapter of Habitat for Humanity International has announced a significant affiliation change, transitioning to the Fuller Center for Housing – Martinsville-Henry County, Inc.
Effective immediately, this move reflects a new covenant partnership aimed at enhancing community service and addressing local housing challenges.
"This decision to affiliate with the Fuller Center for Housing reflects our commitment to better align with our community goals," said Houston Stutz, board president of the local chapter. "We remain steadfast in our mission to provide affordable housing solutions while expanding our capacity to support critical home repairs."
Established in 1988 under Habitat for Humanity, the organization has served 12 families and assisted over 30 since inception. The transition to the Fuller Center, another 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to eradicating poverty housing, ensures continuity in serving existing mortgage holders while broadening outreach efforts.
"Our core mission and values remain unchanged," Stutz emphasized. "We continue to welcome volunteers of all backgrounds to join us in building and rehabilitating homes, fostering partnerships that transform lives."
The Fuller Center for Housing – Martinsville-Henry County is actively seeking a part-time Executive Director to collaborate with homeowners and the board. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Houston Stutz at hstutz48@gmail.com or inquire with any board member.
Tax-deductible contributions and in-kind donations of building materials are crucial to support ongoing projects. For more information on volunteering or contributing, visit www.fullercenter.org or contact (276) 638-6484.
The transition marks a new chapter in Martinsville-Henry County’s commitment to addressing housing needs, continuing its legacy of community service under the Fuller Center for Housing banner.
