MARTINSVILLE – Two people were arrested after a man was shot in Martinsville on Wednesday
Martinsville Police officers responded to a person who had been shot while driving a moped in the area of West Church and Massey Streets.
Police found the victim, 33-year-old Lesley Demond Hundley, with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Hundley was taken to SOVAH Health and then airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
Information and evidence collected at the scene led to the charges and the arrest of two people.
30-year-old Cristoming Antwantin Hariston of Martinsville has been charged with the felony charges of malicious wounding, conspiracy to commit malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in public resulting in bodily injury, maliciously shoot at an occupied vehicle, and the misdemeanor charges of reckless handling of a firearm and damaging property.
31-year-old Ella Irene Davis of Martinsville has been charged with the felony charges of malicious wounding and conspiracy to commit malicious wounding.
Both Hairston and Davis were arrested without incident in the 500 block of Fayette Street and are being held without bond.
Although arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing.

MARTINSVILLE – Police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot in the stomach Wednesday.
Martinsville Police officers responded to a parking lot across from Womack Electric Supply on West Church Street at around 6:25 PM.
Police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound who was the driver of a moped.
According to police, the man was shot in the stomach and was airlifted from SOVAH Health.
The police department is searching for a white Mazda with a Caucasian female driver and an African American male passenger.
The male passenger is believed to be the shooter.
