UPDATE: Martinsville Police identify shooting victim; search continues for two suspects

MARTINSVILLE – Thursday at approximately 11:20 PM, the Martinsville Police Department was notified of a shooting that occurred in the 500 block of Armstead Avenue. The victim, 19-year-old Nictavius Consonta Tinsley, of Martinsville was shot in the arm and leg. Tinsley was taken to SOVAH Health in Martinsville and was later flown to a medical facility in Greensboro, North Carolina where he was treated for a gunshot wound. According to police, his injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

Investigators and officers processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses.

MARTINSVILLE – The Martinsville Police Department is searching for two African American males after they fled the scene of the shooting on Armstead Avenue.

Thursday at around 11:20 PM, police responded to the 500 block of Armstead Avenue for a call of a gunshot wound victim. A 19-year-old man was shot in the arm and leg.

The gunshot wound victim was transported to SOVAH Health in Martinsville and was later airlifted to a regional hospital.

The suspects are described to be wearing black hoodies and jeans. No other description was given.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office assisted city police in the investigation.
