Magna Vista JROTC lay wreath at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Updated: Dec 27, 2018

ARLINGTON – It all started with an introduction and briefing on how the event would take place Friday. Before the Public Wreath Ceremony, Magna Vista High School JROTC students witnessed the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Arlington National Cemetery. The students were once again reminded of the cemetery procedure.

The JROTC students also laid a Martinsville City pin and a penny on many tombstones of Martinsville-Henry County residents. These local residents served the country and were laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.

During the visit the Magna Vista High School students were able to see the preparation of the National Wreaths Across America Day. Each December, volunteers lay a wreath at each grave in the Arlington National Cemetery
