Juvenile in custody for shoplifting from Martinsville Goodwill

MARTINSVILLE – Wednesday at around 7 PM, a Black male juvenile shoplifted a pair of Jordan sneakers from Goodwill in Martinsville. After exiting the Goodwill Store and Donation Center on Commonwealth Boulevard, the male got on a skateboard and headed towards the Village of Martinsville. Officers with the Martinsville Police Department began searching the area for the juvenile. According to the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center, he was described as being 110 pounds, 6 feet 2 inches, with a large tattoo on the neck and wearing a grey hoodie.
A group of males was seen leaving a store at the Village of Martinsville, but their direction of travel was unknown. City police spotted the suspect at the Taco Bell on Liberty Street around 7:40 PM.
The 911 Center then received a call from a citizen who stated that three individuals, wearing hoodies, were acting sketchy. The call was made from The Clocktower on Franklin Street. The males were found and questioned in front of Carter Bank and Trust on Commonwealth Boulevard. One of the male individuals was wanted in North Carolina for probation violation, burglary and forgery. The shoplifting supect and the wanted suspect were taken into custody by Martinsville Police.
