MARTINSVILLE – Monday evening, Martinsville City Council appointed James ‘Jim’ Woods to fill the vacant seat after Sharon Brooks Hodge resigned.
“It’s terribly humbling. I ran unsuccessfully in 2012 and made a good run and felt that this was just a blessing and it’s the Lord‘s Will that I was able to get in,” Woods told BTW21.
Woods was appointed from six other candidates. He will be sworn in at the council’s meeting on August 28. His term expires at the end of 2020.
