HENRY COUNTY – Virginia State Police Trooper B.K. Scott is investigating a single vehicle crash which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred on Thursday (Mar 14) at 3:39 p.m.on Route 220, one tenth of a mile north of Route 641 in Henry County.
A 1990 Ford Ranger was traveling south on Route 220 when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and struck the guardrail and continued over the embankment, ejecting the passenger.
The 40 year old female driver was not wearing her seatbelt and was transported to the hospital for injuries received in the crash. The 7 year old female passenger was wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. She was transported to Martinsville SOVAH Health where she later died.
No charges have been placed at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
