Henry County undercover operation leads to $90,000 in meth


BASSETT –  The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting an undercover drug investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine. As a result, on June 1, 2018 the Henry County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 750 Melrose Dr., Bassett, Virginia.

The search yielded a large quantity of methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $90,000.00. In addition a small quantity of suspected heroin, $8900.00 in United States currency, 14 illegally possessed firearms, in excess of a thousand rounds of ammunition, ballistic body armor and multiple vehicles used to distribute narcotics were seized.

            Joshua Todd Arrington, 29, of 750 Melrose Dr., Bassett, Virginia was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possessing a controlled substance while simultaneously possessing a firearm and possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a violent felony. All charges are felonies. Joshua Arrington is currently held in the Henry County Jail without bond.

            The following agencies assisted in the execution of the search warrant, Henry County Department of Public Safety, Martinsville Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and Drug Enforcment Administration (DEA).

The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards up to $2500.00 for information related to crime.  The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.
