FIELDALE – You could see lots of smiles and tears as seniors from Bassett and Manga Vista High Schools walked down the halls of GW Carver Elementary School. Monday morning, the seniors were able to, once again, see where they started their education. They were an example to current students that with hard work they also can graduate one day.
Principal Marcie Seay read the following over the school's intercom:
"Today, we are going to time travel. As we welcome Bassett High School and Magna Vista High Schools' seniors, many of them will be traveling back in time to when they were here at GW Carver when they were your age. They had some of the same teachers. They played in the same gym and the same playground. They sat in the same classroom. As they approach graduation day, today is a reminder for them of where they begun."
