BASSETT, VA – A mobile home in Bassett was split in half by a fallen tree during severe weather on Wednesday.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported after the tree fell on the trailer on Valley Park Circle at around 5:30 p.m.
The incident occurred amid a severe thunderstorm warning, which BTW21 weatherman Dustin Staples warned could bring winds reaching up to 30 miles per hour.
The powerful storms caused several trees to fall and over 1,500 power outages across Henry County.
The Bassett Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
Volunteers said the resident had a place to stay and that the American Red Cross was not needed.
