Caesars Virginia marked its first anniversary on December 17 by giving back to the community with a generous $100,000 donation to two local nonprofits, God’s Storehouse and the Dan River Basin Association. The contributions, $50,000 each, will support the vital work both organizations are doing to uplift the Danville and Pittsylvania County region.

God’s Storehouse, a community food bank, was one of the key recipients of the donation. The $50,000 gift will go toward funding their efforts to collect and distribute food, promote nutrition, and connect families to local resources.

This donation is the largest the nonprofit has received outside of a grant, providing a much-needed boost to their operations.

Karen Harris, executive director of God’s Storehouse, expressed her gratitude, saying, “This generous donation was very unexpected, and we are so grateful.

Caesars has been very good to God’s Storehouse through volunteers, food drives, and monetary donations.

These funds will go toward supporting operating expenses, serving the 178 families we see on average each day, and providing more than 2,800 boxes of food each month.”

The Dan River Basin Association also received $50,000 to help protect the Dan River’s natural assets, support environmental education programs, and enhance local parks and trails.

With this contribution, the nonprofit will continue its work in preserving the region’s waterways and providing nature based recreation opportunities for the community.

Tiffany Haworth, executive director of the Dan River Basin Association, shared her excitement, stating, “What an exciting day for our organization.

Thanks to Caesars, this extraordinary and generous gift will help provide nature-based recreation opportunities, environmental education programs, and stewardship events that help keep our rivers, air, and land healthy for thousands of people.

We are so grateful for the community-driven and community-focused efforts that Caesars brings to our region.”

Since opening its doors in December 2024, Caesars Virginia has been dedicated to supporting local organizations and causes.

In total, the company has contributed $375,000 to the community through monetary donations and in kind support.

Caesars Virginia’s commitment to volunteerism also continues through the HERO Program, which sends over 1,200 Team Members into the community for volunteer work each year.

Barron Fuller, regional president of Caesars Entertainment, emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to Danville, stating, “Our investment in Danville goes beyond the casino floor.

We are committed to building strong partnerships, supporting local organizations, and empowering our Team Members to give back through volunteerism.”

Chris Albrecht, senior vice president and general manager of Caesars Virginia, added, “Giving back to the community is at the heart of Caesars Virginia’s mission.

We are proud to support organizations that make a lasting impact on the lives of local families and the environment.”

With the anniversary donation and ongoing community involvement, Caesars Virginia is solidifying its role as a valued partner in Danville’s growth and well being.

The local nonprofits are poised to continue their impactful work with the help of this generous contribution, fostering a healthier, more connected community for all.
