City hall closed until November 30 due to potential virus exposure



MARTINSVILLE, VA – Martinsville City Hall is closed due to a potential COVID-19 exposure.


The City of Martinsville announced that city hall will be closed to the public until November 30.


All court facilities, including courts and clerks' offices for Martinsville Circuit, General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts, will be closed until 9 a.m. Wednesday.


All courts and city hall facilities are being sanitized during the closure due to the potential exposure, according to the city.


The city says all essential services, including police, fire and emergency medical services, trash collection, and utility services remain in operation, but are not open to the public.


During the closures, citizens should use online resources for payments, permit applications and other purposes.


Those needing to make direct payments or applications should use the following methods:

  • For all tax and billing payments, use online payments, drive-thru window, or dropbox

  • For the commissioner of revenue, call 276-403-5131

  • For voter registration, call 276-403-5122

  • For utility service connections, call 276-403-5146 or email utilitybilling@ci.martinsville.va.us

  • For building permits, call 276-403-5173

  • For building inspection requests, call 276-403-5365
