ROANOKE, VA
Law enforcement agencies in Roanoke, Virginia, collaborated on a successful narcotics operation led by the Star City Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
Coordinated with the United States Postal Service Inspectors Office and the City of Roanoke Police Gang Interdiction Unit, the operation targeted drug-related criminal activities within the city.
During the operation, officers identified and pursued known gang members suspected of possessing significant quantities of narcotics.
The suspects attempted to evade law enforcement, leading to a brief chase that culminated in their apprehension in the 3500 block of Valley View Ave by the Virginia State Police Special Operations Division.
Upon search of the suspect vehicle, special agents and officers discovered and seized a substantial amount of illicit substances, including approximately 934 grams of methamphetamine, 49 grams of heroin/fentanyl, and 7 fentanyl pills.
Additionally, four firearms and a sum of US currency were confiscated.
Two individuals, Damarius J’Quan Warrick (25) and Zeleek Keshawn Wright-Johnson (20), both residents of Roanoke, were arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and heroin/fentanyl, as well as firearm-related charges.
They are currently in custody at the Roanoke Adult Detention Center without bond.
Further charges are anticipated pending consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
The Star City Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, comprised of investigative personnel from various law enforcement agencies including the Virginia State Police and local police departments, remains committed to combating drug-related crimes in the region.
