MARTINSVILLE – The City of Martinsville will be collecting live Christmas trees for recycling from December 30 to January 16.

The trees will be ground into mulch and used by Gateway Streetscape Foundation on various plant bed sites throughout the community.

City officials say trees may be placed at the back of the curb and it will not be necessary to call for a scheduled pick-up.

After January 17, pickup must be scheduled through the City’s Bulk Item Pick-Up Program by calling 267-403-5419.

Residents can also deliver the trees directly to the Martinsville Jail Annex (City Farm) located on Clearview Drive.

Signs will be posted for the drop off site.
