6 years later, Christmas Eve murder remains unsolved

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC – The murder of a man on Christmas Eve has remained unsolved for six years. 


Calvin Jerome “C.J.” Simpson II was killed on December 24, 2016 at approximately 3:40 a.m.


Simpson was shot to death in doorway of his home at 159 Northfork Drive in Reidsville, N.C. after he answered a knock at the door, according to authorities.


Investigators said the shooter then fled the area.


The investigation remains open.
