MARTINSVILLE, VA – A man was arrested Monday following a standoff at a residence in Martinsville.
The Virginia State Police SWAT Team served the arrest warrant on an individual at 708 Forest Street in Martinsville.
The Martinsville Police Department told BTW21 News at the scene that the suspect, Richard Lee Hannon Jr., was wanted for homicide.
After repeated announcements were made asking Hannon to voluntarily leave the home, SWAT members made entry into the home and made contact with Hannon.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
The entire incident lasted about 15 minutes.
The Martinsville Police Department, Virginia State Police and United States Marshals Service collaborated in this operation.
In 2019, Richard Lee Hannon Jr. and his sister, Kaniesha Shatae Hannon, were arrested for the murder of Tony Bruce of Rocky Mount.
