MARTINSVILLE, VA — The Harvest Foundation has approved more than $1.6 million in grant funding to support financial stability, homeownership, business growth, and community development across Martinsville and Henry County.

The foundation's Board of Directors approved five grants during the third quarter, with funding directed toward programs designed to strengthen local families and businesses.

Grant recipients include the Virginia Council on Economic Education, the West Piedmont Planning District Commission, the United Way of Henry County and Martinsville, and the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce's Partnership for Economic Growth.

The investments will support financial education, opportunities for homeownership, family savings initiatives, and local economic development.

Funding will also contribute to a community-wide celebration recognizing anniversaries associated with Martinsville Speedway and Henry County.

Kate Keller, president of The Harvest Foundation, emphasized that the investments are focused on helping residents build financially stable and secure futures.

She also highlighted the importance of community partnerships, including educators teaching financial literacy and housing counselors assisting first-time homebuyers.

The Harvest Foundation says these grants reflect its continued commitment to strengthening families, supporting economic opportunities, and investing in the long-term future of Martinsville and Henry County.
