PATRICK COUNTY – Dr. J. David Martin has been named the Acting Superintendent for Patrick County Public Schools effective July 1.
Also at the Tuesday meeting, the Patrick County School Board selected Real Synergy LLC, Martin’s consulting company, to conduct superintendent searches.
Martin serves as the Iriswood District representative on the Henry County Board of Supervisors.
During his career, he has served the students of Henry County Public Schools, Manassas Park City Schools, Williamsburg-James City County Schools, Fauquier County Schools and Lincoln County Schools in North Carolina.
In 2007, Martin was named the Virginia Superintendent of the Year and also received the Tech Savvy Superintendent Award from eSchools News.
Bill Sroufe, Current Superintendent, accepted a postion with Colonial Heights Public Schools.
