STONEVILLE WOMAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES EARLY-MORNING PATROL

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A Stoneville woman was arrested on multiple drug charges after a deputy reportedly found her slumped over the steering wheel of a running vehicle early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on August 18, Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jacobson was conducting routine patrol near the Refuel convenience store on U.S. 220 when he observed a woman slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle that was still running.
The deputy approached the vehicle and identified the driver as Morgan Bree McClain of Anglin Mill Road in Stoneville.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, McClain was found in possession of a controlled substance during the encounter. She was charged with:
Possession of methamphetamine
Possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
McClain was taken to the Rockingham County Detention Facility and held without bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 31.

All charges are allegations. McClain is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
