MARTINSVILLE, VA – If you are in need of some extra help this holiday season, Christmas Cheer of Martinsville-Henry County will soon be back.
Applications will open on Monday, October 23 for the season and will be accepted Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Friday, November 17.
The office is located inside the Clocktower at 300 Franklin Street, Suite 226, in Martinsville.
Applications must be completed in person and proof of residency in Martinsville or Henry County is required along with a photo ID.
All household residents must be listed with their date of birth.
Acceptable proof of residency is a Virginia drivers license, a city or county utility bill, or American Electric Power bill.
Christmas Cheer has been assisting families in need residing in Martinsville and Henry County since 1951.
The program provides toys to children 10 and under and it also provides each household with a food box and blanket.
The fundraising goal for this year has been set at $45,000.
Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 540, Martinsville, VA 24114 or dropped off at the cheer office.
