With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Senior Trooper Steven R. Ball of the Virginia State Police on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was 44 years old.
A proud graduate of the 128th Basic Session, Senior Trooper Ball faithfully served the Commonwealth in Area 42, Martinsville.
He was known for the genuine relationships he built, his quiet leadership, and a heart deeply rooted in service. His compassion for the community and unwavering support for his fellow troopers left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Senior Trooper Ball’s dedication, kindness, and commitment to others will never be forgotten.
As we mourn this tremendous loss, our thoughts and prayers remain with his family, friends, and the entire Virginia State Police family.
