HENRY COUNTY, VA – The opening of the new Henry County Adult Detention Center located at 800 Dupont Road is near.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is inviting the public to take tours of the facility prior to moving inmates in on April 1.
The public will be allowed to go through in guided groups on Friday, March 18 from 1 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Male and female inmates will be housed in this new 400 bed facility with security classifications of minimum, medium, maximum and work release.
Piedmont Community Services will have an office inside with the ability to treat inmates who need mental health services.
Wellpath Medical Services will have staff and offices inside to take care of the medical needs of the inmates.
Good News Jail Ministry will also have office space.
Classrooms inside the adult detention center are approved for organized volunteer groups who wish to help inmates with educational needs such as GED.
