HENRY COUNTY, VA – A woman and a man have been arrested following a robbery that occurred Saturday at Woodforest National Bank inside the Walmart on Commonwealth Boulevard.

Just before 2 p.m., the Martinsville-Henry County 9-1-1 Communication Center received an alarm call from the bank.

While deputies were on the way to the call, the 9-1-1 center received another call that the bank had been robbed.

Deputies say they learned a Caucasian woman driving a GMC truck dropped off a Caucasian man at Walmart.

That man, who was wearing glasses and a wig as a disguise, entered the bank and walked up to the teller.

The suspect held up a note demanding money, took the undisclosed amount of money and left the bank, according to the Henry County sheriff's department.

Investigators say they learned that the suspect left the store and went into Lowe's Home Improvement also on Commonwealth Boulevard.

The suspect removed the glasses and the wig before going inside Lowe's.

Once inside, he purchased a shirt, hat, and a pair of black shoes, went into the restroom and changed into the new clothes before leaving the store.

The sheriff's department said they believe the suspect also left the area in the same GMC truck.

51-year-old Nicole Renea Robinette, of 59 Preston-Scales Drive, Martinsville, has been taken into custody.

47-year-old William Robert Schandel Jr., of 60 Brandermill Drive in Fieldale, was arrested Sunday.

Sheriff Wayne Davis says based on a Crimestoppers tip, Schandel Jr. was found inside a room at the Econo Lodge in Collinsville and was taken into custody without incident.

Both have been charged with one count of robbery.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 276-638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 276-632-7463.
