Woman Arrested in Early Morning Shooting in Pittsylvania County

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (BTW21) – A woman is facing serious charges following a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in Pittsylvania County.
According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a home on Cascade Mill Road in response to reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim inside the residence suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel treated the victim at the scene, and he is currently in stable condition, authorities said.
The sheriff’s office emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public, stating that the incident appears to have been isolated to the location where it occurred.
A K-9 unit was deployed to assist in the search for the suspect, leading deputies to 37-year-old Catherine Revel.
She was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding.
Officials say additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
