VIRGINIA STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL CRASH IN FRANKLIN COUNTY

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va.
Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash, which
resulted in a fatality.
The crash occurred Saturday, (Dec 7) at 12:25 a.m. on Route 220, at the
intersection with Southside Drive in Franklin County.
A 2017 Jeep Liberty was traveling south on Route 220, when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, overturned then struck a tree.
The driver of the Jeep was identified as Erick Keith Custis, 52, of Charleston, SC. Mr. Custis was wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.
Speed was a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
