VIRGINIA STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL CRASH IN ALLEGHANY COUNTY

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va.
The Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a vehicle and a bicycle that occurred on Saturday, September 28, at 9:50 a.m. on Route 42, near Matthews Lane in Alleghany County.
A 2018 Dodge Ram was traveling south on Route 42 when it collided with a bicycle, also heading south, at the top of a hill.
The cyclist, identified as 31-year-old Conor Ryan Chadwick of Clifton Forge, Va., sustained injuries and was transported to Lewis Gale, Alleghany Hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Dodge Ram was unharmed.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
