COLLINSVILLE, VA – Firefighters extinguished a fire that started in a vehicle and spread to a Collinsville home on Monday afternoon.
The Collinsville Volunteer Fire Department was dispatch to C and S Drive at 4:13 p.m. after a Ford F-150 caught fire.
According to Collinsville Fire Chief Tyler Beam, the vehicle fire started under the hood and spread to the front porch of the home.
“It actually came in as a vehicle fire. The vehicle was close to the house and caught the exterior of the house on fire,” Fire Chief Beam told BTW21 News.
Thanks to the quick response from the volunteer firefighters, the blaze was stopped from entering the interior of the home.
Beam said a male occupant was displaced.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The Bassett Volunteer Fire Department and the Henry County Department of Public Safety also responded.
