HORSEPASTURE – A single motor vehicle crash closed Preston Road just before midnight. The single vehicle struck a utility pole snapping it in two and sending the transformer crashing to the ground. AEP is evaluating the damage and will be working overnight to restore power. Total customers without power in the immediate area is still unknown. Horsepasture Fire responded to secure the scene. VDOT is closing the road around the 1500 block. No injuries were reported in the motor vehicle crash. Virginia State Police is investigating.
