Danville, VA – April 18, 2025 (BTW21) The Danville Police Department has identified Jaelynn Lowen, 21, of Danville, as the suspect in the fatal shooting of Pinakin Patel, 47, that occurred midday Thursday outside a convenience store on South Boston Road.
Lowen is now wanted on charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The Danville Police Department expressed gratitude to members of the community who came forward with tips that led to the discovery of a blue Honda Odyssey, located on Halifax Road.

On Thursday, April 17, at approximately 12:41 p.m., Danville Police responded to a reported shooting in the parking lot of the Airport Mart Exxon, located at 1385 South Boston Road.
Upon arrival, officers found Pinakin Patel suffering from gunshot wounds. Patel, who was associated with the store, had reportedly engaged in a confrontation with the suspect over an alleged theft. The situation escalated, resulting in the suspect firing a weapon at Patel.
