UPDATE: Investigation Underway After Body Found on Lee’s Ridge Road in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (BTW21) — Authorities have released new details in the investigation of a homicide after a body was discovered on Lee’s Ridge Road in Martinsville on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center received a call reporting a body found in the 500 block of Lee's Ridge Road. Emergency responders from Henry County Public Safety and deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office quickly arrived on the scene and confirmed that the individual was deceased.
The victim was found lying on the shoulder of the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds.
At this time, the victim’s identity remains unknown, and the body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Roanoke for positive identification.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
As part of the ongoing investigation, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the residence located at 1145 Ridge Road, Martinsville, VA. Evidence gathered at the scene suggests that the homicide may have occurred inside the home.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Martinsville Police Department were involved in serving the warrant.
The Martinsville Police Department is now leading the investigation into the case, with continued support from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives are working to gather further evidence and piece together the circumstances surrounding the crime.
