UPDATE: Arrests Made in Old Chatham Road Shooting Investigation

Henry County, Va. (BTW21) — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has announced arrests in connection to the recent shooting incident on Old Chatham Road that left an 18-year-old woman hospitalized.
Following an intensive investigation involving multiple interviews and evidence collection, two individuals have been taken into custody:
Ty’Marquis Nashawn Kershaw, 18, of Fredericksburg, VA, is charged with:
Malicious Wounding (VA Code §18.2-51)
Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony (VA Code §18.2-53.1)
A 16-year-old male from Henry County, VA, is charged with:
Attempted Malicious Wounding (VA Code §§18.2-51/18.2-26)
Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony (VA Code §18.2-53.0)
Possession of a Handgun by a Minor (VA Code §18.2-308.7)
Due to his age, the name of the juvenile is not being released.
Kershaw is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond, while the juvenile is in custody at the W.W. Moore Juvenile Detention Facility in Danville.
The victim, an 18-year-old female, sustained a gunshot wound and was initially transported by a personal vehicle to SOVAH Health Martinsville.
She was later airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where she is currently listed in stable condition.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation to the Martinsville Police Department, Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, Fredericksburg Police Department, and the Rappahannock Regional Jail for their assistance during the investigation.
Authorities continue to seek information related to the incident.
