Union Hall Man Killed in Franklin County Crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. May 31, 2025 –(BTW21) The Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Saturday morning in Franklin County.
According to authorities, the crash happened at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Major Holland Road, about two-tenths of a mile north of Moonlight Cove.
A 2007 Ford F-350, traveling northbound, ran off the right side of the roadway, struck several trees, and overturned.
The driver, identified as Malcolm Randal Johnson, 64, of Union Hall, Virginia, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the incident.
Virginia State Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
