PATRICK COUNTY, VA – A man is facing several charges after a crash left two teens hospitalized in Patrick County on December 16.
We now have learned that 30-year-old Oscar Eduardo Vidrio of Floyd was arrested on Christmas Day by the Virginia State Police after he was released from the hospital.
Vidrio was charged with the following:
Misdemeanor reckless driving
Misdemeanor driving while suspended/revoked
Misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, first offense
Class 4 felony permanent maiming another while DWI
Class 6 felony DWI maiming serious injury
He also received two traffic summons, according to the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office.
Vidrio is being held in the Patrick County Jail with no bond.
State Police said Vidrio was going northbound on Route 8, just north of Route 40 in an SUV, when he crossed the center line and hit a sedan head-on,
The driver of the sedan, Micah Underwood, 16, the passenger, Lauren Worley, 17, and Vidrio were flown to the hospital, police said.
Worley was the most seriously injured and is still hospitalized.

PATRICK COUNTY, VA – A crash left two high schoolers hospitalized in Patrick County on Saturday.
The head-on crash occurred around 9:35 p.m. on Route 8, according to the Virginia State Police.
The teens involved have been identified as 17-year-old Lauren Worley and 16-year-old Micah Underwood.
State police said everyone was transported for injuries received in the crash.
