EDEN, N.C. June 28, 2025 (BTW21) — A shocking incident involving two juveniles resulted in the kidnapping of a 9-month-old infant and the theft of a vehicle outside the Draper Pool on Saturday afternoon, according to the Eden Police Department.
Officers were dispatched around 3:03 p.m. to the pool, located at 1722 Mill Avenue, after receiving reports of a large disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a fight had broken out among several juveniles.
Amid the chaos, two of the juveniles fled the scene and jumped into a nearby vehicle that had been left running.
Inside the car was a 9-month-old infant, secured in a car seat while the child’s parents stood just behind the vehicle.
The suspects drove off with the infant still inside, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.
Eden Police quickly located the suspects on Maryland Avenue and recovered the stolen vehicle on Hopkins Court.
Fortunately, the infant was found unharmed and still secured in the car seat.
The two suspects — a 15-year-old female and a 12-year-old female — were taken into custody. Due to their ages, their identities have not been released.
