FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – Fire departments from Rocky Mount, Ferrum, and Callaway, along with Franklin County Public Safety, were called to a house fire on Ronnies Lane Tuesday around 11 a.m.
Upon arrival, personnel were met with flames engulfing a one-story dwelling.
Responding crews initiated a coordinated attack on the fire while conducting a search of the home for occupants.
Thankfully, the search confirmed that there were no occupants inside the home at the time of the fire.
However, responders discovered the unfortunate loss of two feline companions who perished in the blaze.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation by the Franklin County Fire Marshal's Office as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.
