TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO FENTANYL ARREST IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC (BTW21)— A routine traffic stop in Rockingham County led to the arrest of a woman found in possession of fentanyl and other drug-related items, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.

On July 28, 2025, 30-year-old Caitlyn Nicole Beck was pulled over by deputies with the Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Narcotics Divisions. Authorities say Beck was driving a vehicle with fictitious tags, no insurance, and a revoked license.

During the stop, deputies discovered approximately 1 gram of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and determined the vehicle was being used to maintain illegal substances.

Beck was charged with:

• Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance

• Misdemeanor Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances

• Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

• Driving While License Revoked

• Driving with Fictitious Tags & No Insurance

She was taken before a magistrate, issued a $55,000 secured bond, and booked into the Rockingham County Detention Facility. Her first court appearance is scheduled for August 19, 2025, in Rockingham County District Court.

According to the DEA, just 1 gram of fentanyl has the potential to fatally overdose 500 people, making this seizure a significant public safety intervention.

The Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to the Mayodan Police Department for assisting in the case.
