HENRY COUNTY, VA – Three educators will be taking on administrative positions at Henry County Public Schools starting on July 1.
Amy Garrett will be assistant principal at Laurel Park Middle School.
Garrett currently serves as a middle school teacher and has taught in Henry County since 1998 at both the elementary and middle school levels.
“I am excited and honored to be given the opportunity to continue my career at Laurel Park Middle School,” she said. “I look forward to working with the wonderful faculty and staff, continuing our tradition of academic excellence while promoting an engaging and supportive learning environment for all students.”
D. Marcelle Millner and Kylie Vater have been named assistant principals at Magna Vista High School.
Millner, who currently serves as assistant principal at Laurel Park Middle School, has served students in Rockingham County, North Carolina schools as a teacher and in Henry County as an assistant principal.
“I am excited to become a member of the Warrior team and to work alongside the Magna Vista staff and families as we encourage students to be their very best,” he stated.
Vater has served students in Danville schools as a teacher since 2017.
She said, "I am thrilled to embark on the next part of my career with Henry County Public Schools! I look forward to building relationships with the students and faculty of Magna Vista High School while making a positive impact in the community!"
The appointments were approved by the Henry County School Board during their Thursday morning meeting.
