Three found dead inside Henry County home after murder-suicide identified

HENRY COUNTY, VA – The man and two women that were found dead inside a Henry County home after a murder-suicide have been identified.


At 7:47 p.m. Thursday, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to 221 Venna Aveune after receiving a call for a well-being check.


After making entry into the home, deputies say they located 57-year-old Larry John Cassell, 64-year-old Linda Cassell, and 90-year-old Lois Irene Cassell deceased inside.


The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Roanoke ruled the cause of death for all three as gunshot wounds.

The sheriff's office said the manner of death was ruled homicide for Linda and Lois, and suicide for Larry.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone having information regarding this incident is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 276-638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 276-632-7463.
