Third Arrest Made in Franklin County Murder Case

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. A third person has been arrested in connection with the December 2024 murder of Brandon Holland in Franklin County, Virginia.
Jeffrey Lynn Overstreet, 58, from Callaway, was indicted by a grand jury and now faces multiple felony charges in relation to the tragic killing.
Overstreet has been charged with:
One felony count of 1st Degree Murder – Conspiracy to Commit
One felony count of Non-Capital 1st Degree Murder
One felony count of Firearm Use in Commission of a Felony
One felony count of Maliciously Discharging Firearm in an Occupied Dwelling
The indictment stems from the early morning hours of Saturday, December 7, 2024, when 30-year-old Brandon Holland was shot and killed.
Overstreet was arrested on February 3, 2025, and is currently being held without bond.
Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the murder remains ongoing.
The case began with the arrest of Antonio Maurice Payne, 37, from Lebanon, who was taken into custody shortly after the shooting and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Following that, a second individual, 18-year-old Jamarion Nazier Dunnings, was arrested on December 18, 2024, and charged with non-capital second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Franklin County Sheriff's Office has not released further details regarding the motive or the specific roles of the suspects involved.
Authorities continue to urge anyone with information about the case to come forward.
